Hi Guys!
Ok so I have really problem skin, I suffer from eczema and one of the areas it tend to flare up is my face, I also have been known to get hormone induced acne on my chin, neck and chest, so here is what I do to keep all at bay!!!
First off I fill a bowl or sink with warm/hot water (steamy hot if you want to add a
Tea Tree Toner Tab, which is on my 'things I want to try list') I then rub my face with a face cloth dipped in the water.
Next I use my
Fresh Farmacy. I use this by getting it wet in my hands and rubbing it in my hands then transferring to my face and then rub it around gently like any other face wash and then rinse off. If you're in a hurry you can just wet your piece of the soap (I wouldn't use the whole thing you get from the shop, cut small chunks off it) and rub it on your face then continue.
Fresh Farmacy is so good for problem skin, "This is like a calamine lotion, but in bar form." as LUSH say, it soothes any itch I have due to my eczema and it fights off spots, and i have to say, I have been using this on my face and neck but not my chest, just to see the difference, and there definitely is a big change, my neck and skin are clear from spots, but my chest is as bad as always, so I'm obv going to start using it all over now haha. This may be a face
soap, however, it is not harsh on the skin as normal soaps are, as it actually has very little soap in it (glycerine I think). it has more of a clay texture. I love it!
Next I get a cotton pad, and spray a few sprays of
Tea Tree Water and gently wipe around my face and neck with it. This product is also brilliant for acne and has greatly improved my skin tone, another permanent in my routine, next time I go in I am buying a big bottle for sure.
"Comes to the aid of skin that has emergencies"
My next step is putting a small amount of
Vitamin E Oil over my face and just rub excess onto my hands to moisturise. I use this oil because I heard somewhere it was good for eczema, to be honest, I'm not sure, but it does moisturise and its healthy so ill use it till its done and then decide if I want to get it again or try something new (suggestions very welcome!).
"Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant which not only revitalises and protects the skin, it also helps combat the damaging effects of free radicals and shields it against the environment."
And finally, if its night ill add some
Nivea regenerating night creme, just for the extra boost, sometimes ill even use this during the day however I am looking for a new good day cream. I don't have much to say about this product except, its simple I don't notice anything particularly different about my skin when I use it, it just is a good moisturiser and does what it says on the tin!
And of course I also have topical cream to fight my eczema but unless its awful I try to avoid putting them on my face as they thin the skin, and years of doing it really can take its toll!
Every other day or two I will also use a face mask, the ones I am in love with are
Oatifix which is a banana and oat face mask, it smells like biscuits and it sooo soothing for when I have eczema on my face (like right now, ow!). It doesnt really dry out like most face masks but stays quite moist the whole ten minutes you keep it on. If you have any kind of sensitive skin this is deffinitely for you, it is sooo soothing its unreal. I also have a cat allergy, and i also have a cat (ha!), normally citrezene keeps it at bay but if i forget to take it when I'm home, and touch the cat my face will burn, this would be great to ease that! It would also just give me an excuse to use it haha! 10/10 from me on this one.
"Altogether, a gentle mask that is perfect to feed dry or sensitive skin."
A mask I use more frequently would be LUSH's
Mask of Magnaminty, which is as you can probably guess, a minty mask! This is a face and back mask, and I suppose chest also lol and it is designed to fight spots! I find that when I wash this off my skin tone is brilliant and so smooth, due to the nature of my skin I will always moisturise after, but its brilliant! Also another permanent member of my collection. I currently have the smaller pot, at 125g and for me right now that's plenty as i have used this pot about four times and there is barely any gone (if you know LUSH, you'll know, a little goes a long way!). But unlike the other LUSH face masks, these do not need to be kept in the fridge and last around three months (whereas the other ones must be kept in the fridge and due to them being so fresh, they only stay good for around three weeks) and I think this little pot will do me for a good while yet.
So that's it! How I fight my very problem skin! =) If your skin is super sensitive though I would really just suggest stick to basic things, maybe not so many products as I have here as it will just hurt your skin, but for me, this works =)
